For the curious customer, a detailed peek into the process that takes your flowers from Fresh to Forevermore.

Learn about the process

  • Your flowers have arrived safe and sound, yay!

After unboxing and transferring into a fresh vase, the first stop for your flowers is a photoshoot fit for the stars. Once we’ve captured the beauty of the design your florist created, it’s time to get those petals in the presses!

(P.S. If you would like to see behind the scenes, let me know ahead of time! A media package designed to share to your social media can be added on to your order for an additional cost!)

  • Not all flowers are created equal when it comes to drying. Some petals press like a dream and others are…more challenging. There are a few different methods of drying and pressing that I may use depending on the type of flowers i’m working with.

My favorite method by far is a handy device called a Microfleur. The flowers are sandwiched between two wool pads, and microwaved until they are dry. This device preserves the colors remarkably well, and its the reason why it takes me 4-6 weeks to create your art piece rather than 2-3 months.

Large flowers usually need to be taken apart and dried petal by petal, then reconstructed to look like a flattened version of themselves. This detailed process is my favorite part! Flowers that have a tendency to burn in the Microfleur are pressed in a traditional flower press, or left out in the sun to dry and be flattened later.

When I have spare time between your lovely bouquets, I’m always looking for ways to improve my pressing process and learn new methods of flower drying.

  • Now that your flowers are dry and nestled between stacks of parchment paper, its time to start thinking design! I choose a canvas size that fits well with your bouquet and get right to work.

These are your flowers, so it is super important to me that no petal goes unturned when creating the design that they’ll be glued in forever. I like to design 2-3 layout options, have you choose which one you like best, and then focus in on refining and perfecting it. We will go through as many design reviews as we need to achieve the perfect look!

  • Once the layout has been agreed upon I carefully glue down each piece of the design to the paper backing. As i’m going through and securing each piece, I do one last quality control check of each flower. At the end of this process your flowers will be able to withstand the “shake test”. If they can pass this test, it gives me peace of mind that they will be able to make it through the shipping process in one piece.

  • One thing that makes Forevermore Floral Co unique is our framing process. You wont see many floating frames around here. I prefer to design layouts in solid frames, and glue the flowers to a high quality piece of art backing instead of sandwiching them between glass. The solid background really makes the colors of the flowers pop, and gives the final piece a more elevated look.

I cut each and every mat and backing to size myself. Learning to do this has made it possible for me to offer a wide range of sizes. When you purchase one of my arrangements, your getting floral preservation and a professional framing job all in one!

  • Your custom floral arrangement is complete! Your flowers have been dried, arranged, framed, and quality checked. The last thing to do is prep your frame for the journey to your home.

Each frame is carefully wrapped up in bubble wrap and placed into a secure shipping box. A cleaning kit is included with every order just in case a few flower crumbs find their way into the frame during a particularly rough shipping journey.

Any flowers that were dried but didn’t make it into the final design are sent back to you in their own envelope. If you have some time for a fun DIY project, many uses for the extra flowers can be found on Instagram.
